Is this hotel management software?
No. It is a Google Sheets-based monthly operating review system. It does not replace your PMS, POS, channel manager, accounting system or professional financial advice.
Where do the figures come from?
From your completed-month PMS, POS, payroll, channel and accounting reports. Check the numbers and setup carefully before entering them; inaccurate inputs can distort the review metrics.
How do I get started after purchase?
Use the access link to make your own editable Google Sheets copy. Rename it and move it into a clearly named folder in your Google Drive so you can find it again. Complete Setup & Start, then enter the completed month.
Where is the TheGMDesk refresh menu?
Look in the top Google Sheets menu bar, immediately to the right of Help. Allow the workbook to finish loading; if the menu does not appear, refresh your browser. Select TheGMDesk → Update Monthly Review, then check Review Dashboard, Operating Signals and Review Questions.
Why does Google ask me for authorization?
The workbook uses Google Apps Script to update the review pages in your copy. Google may request permission the first time you use a menu action. This is separate from an expired API key; the standard monthly review does not require an external AI API key. Review the permission screen before approving.
Why are some worksheets hidden? Is my data being sent elsewhere?
Hidden tabs contain supporting calculations and workbook logic. They help simplify navigation and reduce accidental formula changes; they are not a separate database or security boundary. Your Google Drive sharing settings control access to the file. Editors can inspect the script under Extensions → Apps Script and generally reveal hidden tabs using View → Show. Check the script and permissions independently when assessing data access.
Can I share the workbook with my team or clients?
The single-business license permits access for authorized owners, GMs, accountants and other relevant team members or advisors working for the same licensed business. It does not permit distribution to unrelated third parties, other properties or separate clients. Unauthorized redistribution may lead to termination of the license and denial of future downloads, updates or support, subject to the license terms and applicable law. It does not automatically lock an existing Google Sheet.
Do I need integrations or a subscription?
No live software integrations or recurring subscription are required for the standard workbook. You enter the completed monthly figures yourself and run the built-in review refresh.
Is a personal walkthrough available?
You can submit an enquiry for an optional 30-minute online walkthrough. Tell us what you would like to discuss; we will review your request and contact you about possible next steps. Enquiring does not book a session or guarantee complimentary support. Please read the supplied buyer documentation first.
